How the conversion works
“Latin letters, numbers, symbols, and spaces” changes character width while leaving Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana as they are. NFKC normalization also converts half-width katakana and normalizes other compatibility characters.

A single character can matter in SKUs, product codes, IDs, and machine-readable numbers. Review the result before using it.
